
Witt sent to Jamestown

(GREENSBORO, NC) The 2005 Baylor University standout and the Florida Marlin's 15th round draft pick, Paul Witt, was sent to the short-season Jamestown Jammers on Saturday from Greensboro.
Witt played in only four games with the Greensboro Grasshoppers before being sidelined with a left-hand contusion on July 6. In the four games played, Witt hit .231 with three hits and one run. He played his final game for Greensboro on July 5 as a pinch runner.
Prior to the 2005 Super Regionals of the NCAA Tournament, the Arkansas native was hitting .256 with a .928 fielding percentage while with Baylor University.
Witt's hand is now healthy and he will go on Jamestown's active roster effective immediately.
