Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Due to heavy rain and unplayable field conditions, Winston-Salem's scheduled doubleheader on Thursday at BB&T Ballpark with Carolina has been cancelled. The two games will not be made up. Tickets for Thursday's twin bill are exchangeable for any remaining regular season home game this season at the PTI Fly Easy Box Office, located near the centerfield gates at BB&T Ballpark.
The Dash, who were slated to play as the Winston-Salem Warthogs in an homage to the franchise's moniker from 1995-2008, won the first game of the series with the Mudcats on Tuesday 3-1 in five innings when rain shortened the game. Wednesday's contest was postponed due to inclement weather, forcing Thursday's doubleheader. Thursday's games mark the first cancellation for the Dash this year.
The Dash now head to Kinston, N.C., on Friday to start a three-game series with the Down East Wood Ducks. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the series opener, and pregame coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. Fans can catch all of the action on wsdash.com/broadcast and the TuneIn Radio App.
Winston-Salem returns to BB&T Ballpark on Monday, August 6, to begin a homestand of six games in seven days. The Dash homestand features a three-game series against the rival Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the only visit this season from the Potomac Nationals. Promotions for the homestand include a Free Food Tuesday, a Pups in the Park outing (presented by North Davidson Animal Hospital & Camel City Goods) on Wednesday, a Lowes Foods Thirsty Thursday, Cancer Survivor Night (presented by Great Clips) on Friday, a Chick-fil-A Four Pack Night on Saturday and a Rayados Day on Sunday.
Plus, part-owner and NBA superstar Chris Paul will be making an appearance at BB&T Ballpark on Saturday, August 11. The first 2,000 fans on Saturday will receive a photo of the nine-time NBA All-Star. For tickets and more information, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
