July 10, 2019 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem Dash are excited to host the first-ever "Dash Duty Day" for the club's July 31 game at 11 a.m. against the Lynchburg Hillcats at BB&T Ballpark. Jury Duty is the solemn obligation of all qualified citizens. Dash Duty may not be as vital for a functioning society, but a day at the ballpark is a lot more fun than work!
As a part of the promotion, the Dash will be selecting 50 fans to receive a free ticket and an official invite excusing them from work. Dash excuse notes may not be accepted by all employers. The ticket value is $14 (slightly more than jury duty pay). Fans can enter the contest by posting a picture of themselves in Dash gear on Dash's social media accounts.
Excuses from the discharge of Dash Duty may be granted only for reasons of compelling personal hardship. Persons qualified to serve must:
- Reside within an hour of BB&T Ballpark
- Be at least 18 years of age or older
- Enjoy smiling
- Not have actual jury duty on this date
- Be hungry and thirsty
Exemptions, excuses and postponements from Dash Duty may be granted for the following reasons:
- Person is deceased
- Person doesn't like to smile
- Boss is not fun enough to not allow them to attend
- Person is fan of the Lynchburg Hillcats
The contest will begin Wednesday, July 10 and fans can enter by sending their Dash photo to the Dash via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. If you are not selected as one of the 50 winners for Dash Duty Day, tickets are available for purchase at wsdash.com or by calling 336-714-2287.
The Winston-Salem Dash are the Class A-Advanced Minor League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com.
