Fort Wayne Komets News Release
Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Monday that right wing Garrett Meurs has been reassigned from San Antonio of the AHL to the Komets.
Meurs (meers), 22, started the season with Fort Wayne and appeared in six games (1g, 1a) before he was assigned to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. The Wingham, Ontario native appeared in two games during his stay with the Rampage.
Meurs, a third-year pro, split the 2014-15 campaign between the Lake Erie Monsters (0pts, 20gp), the Colorado Avalanche's AHL affiliate last year, and the Komets (12g, 22pts, 30gp). Meurs also added three goals and six points in 10 playoff games with Fort Wayne.
Meurs is expected to be in the lineup this weekend when the Komets skate three games in three nights starting with a home tilt against the Kalamazoo Wings Friday at 8pm. Saturday the Komets hit the road for a 7:15pm faceoff at Toledo before traveling to Brampton to face the Beast Sunday at 2pm.
