HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - The Windy City Bulls (3-1) handed the Iowa Wolves (2-1) their first loss of the season Saturday fueled by a big third quarter in a 126-121 win at Now Arena.
The Bulls outscored the Wolves, 41-23, in the third to erase a 65-58 halftime deficit. Trailing by 11 (99-88) at the start of the final quarter, Iowa cut the deficit to just one point after PJ Dozier's three-pointer with 9:42 left. Marko Simonovic quickly countered with his three as Iowa could never get the lead back as Windy City held on for the win.
CJ Elleby paced the Wolves in scoring with 25 points off the bench. Matt Lewis and Wendell Moore Jr. each added 18 points. Lewis knocked down six three-pointers while Moore Jr. made four and pulled down seven rebounds.
Malcom Hill and Simonovic led the Bulls with 20 points each.
The two teams will play again Sunday with a 2 p.m. tip and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBATV.
