The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Austin Spurs, 106-98 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

After appearing in five games with the Orlando Magic, today marked the season debut for returning two-way player Admiral Schofield. On the other end, the short-handed Austin Spurs acquired familiar eight-year NBA veteran, Kenneth Faried.

The Spurs came out strong with a 9-0 run after being stunned in their previous loss to the Magic. The Spurs kept building on their lead with a strong offensive-rebounding performance. The Magic trailed at the end of the first quarter 36-18, capped off with a buzzer-beating three-point shot by Tommy Kushe.

To start the second half the Magic came back with a 12-2 run led by Zavier Simpson. After facing a 24-point deficit the Magic bounced back and cut the lead to just six points during the third quarter. Although not enough, in the end, Zavier Simpson continued powering through with momentum finishing the game with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Jemerrio Jones came off the bench to help produce some firepower for the Magic, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Spurs forward Chaundee Brown Jr. led all scorers with 25 points.

After splitting a two-game homestand, the Lakeland Magic will begin a four-game road trip starting against the Birmingham Squadron on Tuesday, November 15 at 8 PM.
