SALT LAKE CITY - The Stars lost their first game of the 2022 G League Showcase Cup in a 95-109 road loss to the Stockton Kings at Stockton Arena and are now 2-1 on the year.
Salt Lake City was led by Utah Jazz two-way player Micah Potter who logged 22 points on 7-of-9 from the field, along with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Big-man Tyler Cook was efficient from the floor, scoring 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting, also grabbing four boards.
Forward Paris Bass was impressive off the bench once again, registering 15 points (5-of-11 FG and 3-of-5 3FG), grabbing six boards, and handing out four assists in 32 minutes
After being down 70-85 going into the fourth quarter, the Stars were able to cut the lead to nine, 83-92, with 6:31 remaining in the final period thanks to Potter's six fourth quarter points, but the hometown Kings pulled away in the final stretch to seal the victory.
Stockton's Chima Moneke finished with 24 points and nine boards with DJ Steward adding 27 points off the bench.
The Stars next matchup is on Nov. 17 on the road against the Ontario Clippers at 8 p.m. MT.
