FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies and San Francisco Giants are proud to present Hall of Famer Willie McCovey at Grizzlies Stadium Wednesday for an appearance and autograph session during the Grizzlies game against Sacramento.

McCovey will be honored in an on-field recognition ceremony prior to the game at 6:45 p.m. with the city of Fresno planning a proclamation involving McCovey. Fresno Mayor Allan Autry will on-field to make the announcement. McCovey will then sign autographs for fans at 7:15 p.m. in the concourse for a 45-minute session. Fans will be allowed one item signed per trip through the line.

The former Giants slugger earned NL Rookie of the Year honors in 1959 and went on to win the MVP award in 1969, where he hit .320 while blasting 45 home runs and 126 RBI. The six-time All-Star leads all San Francisco players in games played (2,256) and RBI (1,388), while ranking second in home runs (469). He holds the NL record with 18 career grand slams and is currently 15th on the all-time home run list with 521.

McCovey played 19 seasons with the Giants with brief stints with the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics and was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Giant in 1986.
