BRADENTON, Fla. - Luke Williams went yard for the second straight day and matched a career high with four RBIs, backing another strong start from Adonis Medina as the Threshers evened up the series with a 5-3 win over the Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park.

Williams homered for the fourth time in his last seven games, and has driven in six runs in the first two games of the series.

The Threshers have now won nine consecutive games in which Medina (7-2) has started. The right-hander struck out a season-high 10, and has allowed only five runs (four earned) over his last 29 innings, for a 1.24 ERA over those five starts.

Medina struck out five of the first six batters he faced, and did not permit a hit until Adrian Valeria doubled up the third base line with one out in the fourth.

Following a strike out of Mitchell Tolman, Albert Baur raked a double to right to bring across the first run of the night, putting Bradenton (34-30) up 1-0.

The Threshers (32-35) were held off the board through six innings by Bradenton starter Oddy Nunez, but broke through against the bullpen in the seventh.

Henri Lartigue and Raul Rivas got it going with back-to-back singles against Adam Oller (0-1), and after attempting to bunt on the first few offerings, Williams was down in the count, 1-2.

With the bunt off, Williams lofted a drive that cleared the fence down the left field line, putting Clearwater up 3-1 on his second homer in as many days.

Medina exited after six innings in the start, having held Bradenton to one run on three hits and three walks while collecting 10 strikeouts - two short of matching a career high.

Clearwater tacked on two more in the eighth, when four consecutive batters reached with two outs against Jacob Brentz. Following a pair of walks to Jose Pujols and Lartigue, Rivas pulled a single past the dive of third baseman Hunter Owen, scoring Pujols to make it 4-1. Williams followed with a sinking liner to center to bring home Lartigue and push the lead to four.

The Marauders pulled close after a Jared Oliva RBI double in the eighth, and a two-out homer by Arden Pabst in the ninth, but Ismael Cabrera finished it off to earn his second save.

The Threshers wrap up the three-game set at Bradenton on Wednesday morning, with first pitch at 10:30 a.m. Nick Fanti will take the hill against Luis Escobar, and the game will be broadcast live on threshersbaseball.com starting at 10:15 a.m.
