
Miracle Win Slugfest Over Tampa, 8-7

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Fort Myers Miracle used a balanced offensive attack in defeating the Tampa Tarpons, 8-7, Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium.
The Miracle erased an early 5-0 deficit with a six-run third inning. Travis Blankenhorn knocked in two on a double to right and later scored on a wild pitch. Caleb Hamilton capped off the scoring with a three-run double.
Tampa retook the lead in the fourth on a Brandon Wagner two-run double. Fort Myers tied the game at seven in the bottom of the frame on a Jaylin Davis infield single.
Still tied 7-7 in the sixth, the Miracle took an 8-7 lead with some small ball. Blankenhorn singled and stole second before moving to third on a fly ball. Lewin Diaz then knocked him home with a single.
Miracle starter Tyler Watson allowed seven runs in 3.1 innings. Watson yielded 11 hits in collecting a no decision.
Ryan Mason (3.2 innings), Logan Lombana (one inning), and Tom Hackimer (one inning) combined to throw 5.2 shutout innings. Mason (6-3) earned the win while Hackimer collected his second save of the season.
Tampa right-hander Will Carter lasted just 2.2 innings. Carter allowed six runs on five hits in picking up a no decision.
After Hobie Harris allowed a run in 1.2 innings of relief, Trevor Lane (1-3) entered a 7-7 game and allowed a run in suffering his third loss of the season. Lane tossed two innings. Luis Arraez, Caleb Hamilton, Joe Cronin, and Blankenhorn all collected multi-hit games.
The Miracle go for the three-game sweep Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers. Clark Beeker (2-4, 3.04) makes the start for Fort Myers. Adonis Rosa (6-1, 3.51) takes the ball for Tampa. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
