Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, have come to an agreement for naming rights to the picnic area at Falconi Field with Hi-Tops Sporting Nightlife, the popular bar and restaurant located in downtown Pittsburgh.
"As we continue to look at setting the standard for teams and facilities of our size; the ability to partner with Hi-Tops brings instant credibility to our team," said Wild Things General Manager Ross Vecchio.
Hi-Tops operates sports bars across from both PNC Park and Wrigley Field, but to date, all have been at major league facilities. The agreement between the Wild Things and Hi-Tops is the first partnership ever between the popular sports bar chain and a minor league baseball team.
"Hi-Tops is the preeminent sports bar in Pittsburgh, and they look to associate with baseball stadiums. And we are honored to be their first "non-Major League" venue," said Wild Things Managing Partner John Swiatek.
Hi Tops will be naming sponsor to the picnic area at Falconi Field, where the Washington Wild Things play baseball. The area will assume the Hi Tops' name, and the operators of Falconi Field hope to host a number of post game events in the Hi Tops picnic area.
The first post-game event will start following the Wild Things game versus the Richmond Roosters on July 12th. At the conclusion of the 3:35 PM start, Buffett Man Tom Watt will perform at the Picnic Area entertaining fans in the relaxed atmosphere of the Hi-Tops Picnic area. Post-Game Fireworks and Post-Game music will entertain fans also following games on Friday's. The popular Party in the Park promotion will take a slight change as music switches to post game on July 18th vs.. Florence, July 25th vs.. Kalamazoo, August 8th vs.. River City, and August 22nd vs.. Kalamazoo.
Fans can also relax post game at the Hi-Tops Party Pavilion on Saturday August 9th after the Wild Things take on the Mid-Missouri Mavericks on Elvis Lives Night. Following the game, fans can enjoy Elvis music in the Party Pavilion.
The Wild Things and Hi-Tops will look to partner on other events at the ballpark besides baseball games. "We hope to grow our entertainment arm by bringing in quality concerts and other events to Falconi Field, and we feel Hi-Tops is the right partner to help us do that," said Vecchio.
"We've heard and seen nothing but great things about the Wild Things and Falconi Field, and we felt that it was a perfect fit," said Hi-Tops Partner Marc "Bubba" Snider.
The Wild Things return home for a three game homestand beginning July 12th as they play host to the Richmond Roosters). The Saturday July 12th game will be televised on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh with a special starting time of 3:35 PM.
