
Evansville Otters Set World Record

Evansville Otters News Release
Evansville, IN- On Sunday, July 6th the Evansville Otters teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to set a Guinness World Record for the most aluminum cans donated in an eight-hour period. The cans started being collected at 11am on Sunday morning and went up until 7pm. In this time period over two dumpsters were filled with aluminum cans. Everyone that turned in cans received $1 admission to Sunday's game. Along with the $1 admission, prizes were awarded to teams formed by local groups who collected the most cans.
On Monday morning the cans were weighed with the total amount of money being raised from the collected cans going to Habitat for Humanity. The Evansville Otters and Habitat for Humanity collected 3,820 pounds of cans. This amount of cans raised $3,360 which can pay for the lumber and siding for one Habitat house.
