
Wild Pitch Helps Erie Walk off Altoona

The SeaWolves walked off Altoona in 10 innings with a 3-2 win on Saturday.
Erie struck for a pair of runs against Tyler Samaniego in the second inning. With two on, Ben Malgeri lined an RBI double to open the scoring. Danny Serretti plated another with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Ty Madden pitched well for Erie. He tossed five scoreless innings and allowed three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.
Altoona came back to tie the game in the seventh in Bryce Tassin's second inning of relief. The leadoff batter, Carter Bins, reached on a fielding error by Luis Santana. He later came around to score on a single by Lolo Sanchez to make it 2-1. With two out and runners at the corners, Jackson Glenn tied the game at two with an RBI single.
Andrew Magno, Blake Holub, and Layne Henderson came up clutch out of the bullpen for Erie. They combined for 3.1 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.
In the 10th inning, Luis Santana was the free runner. He advanced to third on a Chris Meyers groundout. With Corey Joyce batting, Santana scored on a wild pitch from Cameron Junker to give Erie the win.
Henderson (2-0) earned the win. Junker (2-5) took the loss.
The series wraps up on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. as Adam Wolf pitches against Aaron Shortridge.
