Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers, along with PERT Plus and MiLB.com, proudly announce that Wil Myers has been selected, through a nationwide fan vote, as the winning hitter for the PERT Plus MiLB Stars.

"Wil has simply been the best player in Minor League Baseball," said Omaha Storm Chasers President and General Manager Martie Cordaro. "All of us here associated with the Omaha Storm Chasers are extremely proud and excited for Wil."

Myers currently leads Minor League Baseball in home runs. He also ranks among the top 10 Minor Leaguers in RBIs, extra-base hits and slugging percentage, making him an easy choice for the award. The Kansas City Royals drafted Myers out of high school in the third round of the 2009 Draft.

Tacoma Rainiers left-hander Danny Hultzen was selected by the voters as the winning pitcher. Hultzen made his Minor League Baseball debut this season with the Double-A(r) Jackson Generals. After going 8-3 with a 1.19 ERA and being named a Southern League All-Star, Hultzen was promoted to Triple-A. He is among the full season leaders in batting average against and ERA.

A pre-game award ceremony will be held at Werner Park prior to the 2:05 p.m. contest against the New Orleans Zephyrs on Sunday, August 26 to honor Myers' achievement.

To purchase tickets to attend Sunday's pre-game ceremony and subsequent game, or to purchase playoff tickets, please call the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100 or visit www.omahastormchasers.com.
