GARY, Ind. - Derek Drage held Wichita to a run in seven innings, but the RailCats were on the losing end of a 1-0 pitcher's duel on Tuesday night against the Wingnuts. The 'Cats record drops to 12-13, seven games behind the first-place Wingnuts in the Central Division a quarter of the way through the season.

The only run of the game came by Wichita in the top of the third. With two outs, the Wingnuts hit three straight singles off of Drage to take a 1-0 lead.

Wingnuts starter Derek Blacksher (3-1) held the RailCats to four hits in 6 2/3 innings as they were shutout for the second time this season. The RailCats had their chances to score but stranded runners in scoring position in the first, second, fifth, sixth and ninth. Mike Coles led off the sixth inning with a double into the right field corner but was stranded at third.

In the ninth inning, Mike Rohde singled with one out and moved to second on a wild pitch. He advanced to third on Kyle Haines' ground out but was stranded when Matt Nevarez got Brian Kolb to ground out to short to end the game.

Drage (2-2) pitched seven innings, recording his second quality start of the season, and the fourth for RailCats pitchers in the last six games. He allowed just the one run on six hits, striking out three batters and walking a pair.

The rubber match is on Wednesday afternoon at 12:10 PM. Stephen Hiscock (0-1, 3.86) will go for the RailCats and take on left-hander Ryan Hinson (3-0, 3.56).
