Harlingen - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Deybi de la Cruz (5-11, 155).
De la Cruz spent the last two seasons in the Kansas City Royals farm system with the rookie-level Arizona Royals and Burlington Bees (Appalachian League), going 7-5 with a 4.49 ERA in 24 games (nine starts). In 88.2 innings he has struck out 78 while walking 23 and allowing 100 hits.
De la Cruz is in uniform tonight wearing #9.
