HARLINGEN-- The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings(36-44) ended their season with a 5-3 win over the Edinburg Roadrunners (41-39) Wednesday night at Harlingen field.
Edinburg got their offense going early with a lead off walk from Ozzie Conseco, one batter Agustin Septimo belted his second homerun of the series giving Edinburg an early 2-0 lead.
RGV answered back in the bottom of the first with a pair of runs, Roberto Ramirez scored on a fielders choice cutting the lead in half 2-1.
Hector Garcia then belted a solo homerun tying the game at two runs even.
The Wings took the lead in the bottom of the second with three runs of their own. Chad Bunting and Buddy Elmore drew a pair of walks.
Haroki Itakura scored Bunting and Elmore on a bunt single giving the Wings a 5-2 lead.
Edinburg scored one run in top of the fifth inning, on a Canseco RBI single trimming the lead to 5-3.
The Roadrunners will face off against the Fort Worth Cats for the United League Championship at LaGrave field.
