
Roadrunners Held on the Road

HARLINGEN, Texas - the Edinburg Roadrunners were held on the road again as they were defeated by the Rio Grande Valley White Wings by score of 5-3 at Harlingen Field on Wednesday night.
Edinburg (41-39) got on the board first in the first inning when Ozzie Canseco drew a walk to start the game, and then Agustin Septimo hit his fifth homerun of the season putting the Roadrunners on top 2-0
Rio Grande Valley (36-44) responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first when Albert Carpen hit an RBI groundout that scored Roberto Ramirez which made it 2-1. Hector Garcia would tie the game at two when he hit his first homerun of the season.
The White Wings would score three runs in the bottom of the second on defensive miscues by Edinburg which made it 5-2.
In the top of the fifth inning, Canseco would hit an RBI single that scored Chris Anderson from second to trim the deficit at 5-3 as it would be as close as they would get.
Brett Miller (4-6) pitched six innings in route for the win allowing one earned run striking out seven for the White Wings.
Austin Fraker (1-2) took the loss after allowing four earned runs in two innings pitched for the Edinburg Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners will play the United League Championship Series starting on Thursday versus the Fort Worth Cats with the first pitch at 7:05 pm at La Grave Field.
