Diaz Earns Johnny's True Value Most Valuable Player for the Month of June

HARLINGEN - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that centerfielder Javis Diaz (5-10, 175) is the Johnny's True Value Most Valuable Player for the Month of June.

Diaz became the first United Leaguer to record six hits in a game during a 25-11 win over Amarillo on June 16. He also hit for the cycle during that game, becoming the second United Leaguer to accomplish that feat. The first was Johnny's True Value Most Valuable Player for the Month of June 2007, WhiteWings shortstop Omar Bramasco.

Diaz hit .363 with nine doubles, two triples, one home run, 16 RBI, 27 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in June. He entered tonight's action ranked third in the league in hitting (.377), first in stolen bases (21), third in on-base percentage (.449) and tied for third in runs scored (36).
