Player Notes: Mark Kosick and Kenny Corupe are tied for the team lead in points with 13. Kosick leads the Nailers with six goals and Corupe leads the Nailers with nine assists. Corupe leads the Nailers with nine points in the last ten games. James Laux and Ed McGrane are tied for the team lead with two power play goals each. Laux also leads the team with a +7 rating in the +/- category. Andy Chiodo recorded his first win with Wheeling on December 3 by making 28 saves on 30 shots in a 3-2 overtime win. Chiodo is the first goaltender to record a win at all three levels in the Penguins organization for a career.
Team Notes: The Nailers are outscoring their opponents 22-17 at home this season, and are being outscored 22-18 on the road. The Nailers are last in the league in power play percentage at 9.8%. The Nailers penalty kill is seventh in the league at 87.2%. The Nailers have the seventh highest penalty minute per game average at 22.3 penalty minutes per game. The Nailers are last in the ECHL in goals for per game averaging 2.11. The Nailers are second in the league in goals against per game allowing 2.05. The four games the Nailers have been shutout this season is tied for the fourth highest total shutouts against for a season in team history.

Thursday, December 2
Wheeling 1 @ Dayton 2
The Nailers lost for the second time this season in Dayton by a one goal deficit. Dayton took a 1-0 lead at 4:49 of the second period on a Justin Kinnunen goal. Ed McGrane tied the game 1-1 with a goal assisted by Evgeny Lazarev. The goal was scored at 16:05 of the second period and was the fifth of the season for McGrane. Dayton broke the tie at 6:17 of the third period on a Tyler Kolarik goal. Andy Chiodo made 26 saves on 28 shots in the loss.
Friday, December 3
Wheeling 3 @ Peoria 2 (OT)
Wheeling used two Chris MacKenzie goals to take a 2-0 lead on the Rivermen in this game. MacKenzie scored his first goal 42 seconds into the game with Drew Fata assisting. MacKenzie added a power play goal at 11:49 of the second period from Kenny Corupe and James Laux to give the Nailers a 2-0 lead. Peoria's Igoe Valeev scored a power play goal at 18:20 of the second period to get the Rivermen back to within one goal at 2-1. Chad Starling tied the game 2-2 with a Peoria power play goal at 3:01 of the third period. The Nailers won their second game of the season in overtime on a Brendon Hodge goal at 2:39 from Mark Kosick. Andy Chiodo recorded his first win with the Nailers by making 28 saves on 30 shots.
Sunday, December 5
Wheeling 0 @ Peoria 1
The Nailers were shutout for the fourth time this season, second time by a 1-0 score. The only goal of the game was scored at 19:10 of the second period. Randy Rowe scored the goal from Jake Riddle and Chris Bogas. Joe Exter made 29 saves on 30 shots in the loss. The shutout ties the fourth highest shutout against total for a season in Wheeling's history.

Wednesday, December 8
Wheeling @ Atlantic City 7:05p.m.
The Nailers travel to Atlantic City for the second time this season, winning 2-1 in a shootout the first time. The Nailers are 2-0-0 against the Boardwalk Bullies this season, winning both games 2-1 in a shootout.
Friday, December 10
Atlantic City @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.
The Nailers return home against Atlantic City for Awful Night. The promotion is designed to have fun with the fans, making the entertainment awful in an entertaining manner. From the door giveaway, to the pre-game fireworks, to the intermission activities, the night will be awful. The game will be the fourth meeting of the season between Wheeling and Northern Division leading Atlantic City.
Saturday, December 11
Wheeling @ Reading 7:05p.m.
This will be the fifth game of the season between the Nailers and the Royals, the second game in Reading. The Nailers are 1-3-0 against the Royals, 0-1-0 in Reading. The Royals have shutout the Nailers twice this season, the Nailers have shutout the Royals once.
Sunday, December 12
Trenton @ Wheeling 7:00p.m.
The Trenton Titans travel to Wheeling for the second time this season. The Nailers are 1-0-0 against Trenton, having won the first game 3-2 in overtime on November 26. The first 2,000 fans will receive a souvenir puck courtesy of Fibernet and WTOV-9.
Nailers Player of the Week:
The Nailers Player of the Week is Chris MacKenzie. MacKenzie scored two of the Nailers three goals in a 3-2 overtime win in Peoria on December 3. He finished the week playing at a +1.
Nailers Goaltender of the Week:
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Andy Chiodo. Chiodo was 1-1-0 in two games last week, recording his first win with Wheeling on December 3. Chiodo made 54 saves on 58 shots in two games.
