Edmonton, AB - A two-goal outburst in the third period by a pair of NHL prospects sunk the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday Afternoon.

Dylan Guenther (Arizona) and Jake Neighbours (St. Louis) scored four minutes apart to give the Edmonton Oil Kings the 5-3 victory.

"I thought we played really well," said Head Coach Don MacGillivray. "We had enough chances to win. Our goalie was good and we had a lot of good efforts tonight. Edmonton is a good team here and they came at us hard."

Carson Bjarnason got the nod between the pipes for the second consecutive night and made 38 saves in the losing effort.

"Carson was excellent tonight," added MacGillivray. "He didn't find out he was starting until about 10 his morning he came in and gave us a chance. We made a few too many mistake in front of him in the third and gave up quality chances to some good players."

Ridly Greig continued his goal-scoring streak, adding his 4th goal in three games, while Landon Roberts and Vinny Iorio added singles.

Brandon will wrap up this four-game road trip on Sunday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome vs the Calgary Hitmen.

"Nothing changes for us in terms of our game plan," added MacGillivray. "Two points on Sunday makes this a real good road trip for us."

You can catch the game on Brandon's Bounce Radio or the iHeartRadio App starting with the pre-game show at 4:45 MB time.
