
Westmoreland, Schuster Dazzle in Doubleheader

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish took both games from the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in Friday's doubleheader. In shorten seven inning games, Kenosha won the first game 5-3 behind a five run fifth inning to capture the come from behind victory. Game two also belonged to the Kingfish, winning the nightcap by a final of 4-2.
In game one, the Rafters held a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning after solo home runs in the fourth and fifth inning by Ryan Cleveland and Sam Tolleson, respectively. Entering the bottom half of the inning, the Kingfish loaded the bases with no one out and Pat McInerney hit an RBI sacrifice fly to make it 2-1. Brody Westmoreland followed with a double down the right field line to bring home Jason Scholl and T.J. Nichting to give the Kingfish the lead for good. RBIs from Alex Borglin and Eric Filia later in the inning cemented the 5-2 Kingfish victory. Ryne Blanton earned the win after working five innings and limiting Wisconsin Rapids to two runs. J.D. Nielsen pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn the save.
In game two, Westmoreland's power was on display again. This time the Kingfish shortstop launched a three run home run over the right field fence to give the Kingfish a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second. That was all the offense Kingfish starting pitcher P.J. Schuster needed. The 2015 Northwoods League All-Star was on top of his game, throwing a six inning, five hitter to garner tshe win. Schuster made three Rafters whiff and did not allow a single walk in the 4-2 Kingfish win. E.J Trapino worked the seventh inning to pick up the save. The Kingfish improved to 8-0 against the Rafters this season.
The Kingfish hit the road to play at Green Bay this weekend. The Kingfish return home next Saturday, July 25th at 6:05 p.m. and are home through July 28th. Great seats are still available as the Kingfish make their march towards the playoffs.
