
Rox Remain in First Place After Falling to Bullfrogs

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox fell short to the Green Bay Bullfrogs 5-4 Friday night at the Rock Pile in front of a crowd of 1,804.
Domenick Carlini (Southeastern Louisiana University) started on the mound for the Rox. He would go 3.1 innings and struck out three batters.
The Rox would score their first run in the bottom of the second inning when Michael Strem (Boston College) would hit a ground out that would score John Sansone (Florida State University).
Erik Martinez (Cal-Berkeley) would then come in for 1.2 innings where he did not allow a hit and struck out two batters.
Following Martinez out of the bullpen would be Robbie Petty (Nicholls State University) who would go two innings and only allowing tow hits.
The Rox would score three runs in the seventh inning. The scoring would start off when Marcus Carson (University of Kentucky) would hit a ground out to the first basemen that would score Jake Farr (Tennessee Tech).
Brett Pope (Western Carolina University) would then single in Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) and Strem.
Brian Glowicki (University of Minnesota) would then come in for the final two innings for the Rox. He would not allow a hit and struck out one batter. Glowicki's season ERA is now down to 1.08 with 24 strikeouts.
The Rox are now 12-5 in the second half and 31-20 overall. St. Cloud leads the second half North Division standings by 1.5 games.
The Rox will take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 6:05 p.m. at the Rock Pile. Gates will open for fans at 5:05 p.m. Tomorrow will be a Piggy Bank Giveaway and Quarter Drop presented by Great River Federal Credit Union. First 300 kids 12 and under will receive a piggy bank and have a chance to pick up 4,000 quarters on the field after the game.
