LAST TIME OUT

On February 28, 2019, the Westchester Knicks (25-18), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, endured a franchise first triple-overtime battle at the Greensboro Swarm (21-20) but fell, 122-116, Thursday afternoon at The Fieldhouse.

Kadeem Allen's layup with the shot-clock turned off in the fourth quarter forced the first overtime session. The Knicks took an early 10-0 command to roll out play in the first but fell behind by as many as 18 in regulation.

Devonte Graham's three-point heave in the second overtime forced the third overtime and another long make from him in the third frame pushed the Swarm in front for good.

From the fourth quarter's clutch window through to the third overtime, Allen led the team with six points, two dimes, two steals and two rebounds. He would finish with a second team-leading 26 points, tied a team-high five helpers and tied his career-high 10 rebounds.

Jameel Warney netted 29 points, his second-highest point total as a Knick, while collecting nine rebounds and tying a team-high five helpers. His five blocks tied his career-high.

Paul Watson's second double-double of the season comprised of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

For the hosts, Graham poured in 33 points on 50-percent shooting to go along with seven assists. Dwayne Bacon's double-double was made up of 23 points and 10 rebounds while Chinanu Onuaku added 10 points and 12 rebounds before succumbing to disqualification.

Greensboro takes the season series, 2-1.

LAST MEETING

On November 24, the Westchester Knicks (8-3), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, defeated the visiting Wisconsin Herd (1-8), 104-91, on the tail-end of a series back-to-back, Saturday night at the Westchester County Center.

The Knicks were in front by as many as 22 points, last witnessed following a dunk by New Orleans Flex Assignee Kenrich Williams on the feed from Luke Kornet, at the 9:43 mark of the fourth quarter, 91-69.

Wisconsin continued to battle, shrinking its lead to 11 by the 4:47 stamp but were unable to cut in any deeper and rested on the 13-point final.

Williams finished with his second-consecutive double-double comprised of 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, including four on the offensive end.

Kornet ended with a team-high 25 points which included three triples. He also dished five assists. Billy Garrett tallied a season-high 22 points on 58.8-percent shooting, and a near career-high eight dimes (superlative is nine).

For the visitors, James Young led the offense with 28 points on 50-percent shooting. Brandon McCoy had 19 points and 14 boards for his double-double.

Westchester has now won six of its last seven games.

FIRST SEASON SERIES MEETING

On November 23, the Westchester Knicks (7-3), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, downed the visiting Wisconsin Herd (1-7), 131-75, Friday night at the Westchester County Center.

The 56-point margin of the victory set a franchise record while it was also marked the first time a team won by 50-plus points since the Raptors 905 dominated Texas, 136-80.

Luke Kornet netted a game-high 25 points on 57.1-percent shooting. The forward also swished five triples on a 71.4-percent shooting clip. New Orleans Flex Assignee Kenrich Williams notched a double-double comprised of 15 points and 13 rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.

Billy Garrett (17), Gyorgy Goloman (14), Trevon Bluiett (13), Paul Watson (12), Kadeem Allen (11) and Stephen Zimmerman (10) also scored in double-figures.

For Wisconsin, James Young had a team-leading 15 points converting five of his 11 looks from the field. Cinmeon Bowers tabbed 11 points. Mareik Isom grabbed a team-best seven boards on the night.

The Knicks' shot 56.5-percent from the field while contained the Herd's shooting performance to just 27.9-percent. Moreover, Westchester drained 46.4-percent of its looks from downtown while Wisconsin connected on just 20.9-percent of its three-pointers.

With only one lead change, the Knicks boasted a 61-point lead evidenced by the 131-70 line at the one-minute mark of the fourth quarter.

Westchester has now won five of its last six games.

Devon Baulkman went a perfect 6-of-6 from the field against Lakeland (2/24) and 2-of-2 from distance for 14 points. Against Grand Rapids (2/22) and Lakeland (2/24), he shot 64.3-percent from the field and 66.7-percent from distance. This follows a two-game span where he shot 30.4-percent from the field and 33.3-percent from the perimeter. Most recently against Greensboro (2/28), he failed to find the bottom of the net.

Wiggs' three combined three-pointers against Lakeland (2/24) and Greensboro (2/28) is the most in a two-game span since Wiggs drained five from 1/26-1/28. Wiggs' eight rebounds against Greensboro (2/28) were the most since he grabbed a career-high nine against Sioux Falls (1/26).

KNICKS FOR THREE

Westchester's 15 made three-pointers against Capital City (2/12) were the most by the team since the Knicks drained 15 against Erie (11/18). The team's high stands at 17 which was tabbed against Lakeland (11/10). Through the three games prior to Capital City (2/12), the team was averaging just 8.3 made three-pointers.

SIMMER DOWN BILLY

From 2/1-2/22, Billy Garrett scored 20-plus points in seven games which included a pair of 30-points games. Against Lakeland (2/24), Garrett scored just 12 points on 35.7-percent shooting while draining just a pair of threes on a 28.6-percent clip. He went 2-of-7 again from long range against Greensboro (2/28) and scored 18 points on 35.3-percent shooting.

In those seven games from 2/1-2/22, Garrett scored 187 points.

THE BENCH

Westchester's bench against Greensboro (2/28) account for 14 of the team's 116 points. However, Sekou Wiggs generated all 14 of those points. Devon Baulkman, Buay Tuach, Gyorgy Goloman and Nate Hickman all failed to hit a shot. Hickman did not attempt one in only 2:04 minutes played.

Isaiah Hicks' six assists against Lakeland (2/24) tied his career-high, first written against Rio Grande Valley (2/11).

Zak Irvin scored six points against Lakeland (2/24) which is the fewest in 19 games. Before Lakeland, Irvin scored double-figures for eight straight games. Against Lakeland, Irvin played just under 20 minutes before exiting the game early due to a back injury. He still grabbed a game-high 10 boards before his departure.

BREAKIN' DOWN BILLY

Billy Garrett was averaging 30.0 points in Westchester's last three games before the NBA All-Star break, a total of 90 points.

The only other time Watson grabbed 10 rebounds came last year versus Windy City (3/16/18) which accompanied nine points on 37.5-percent shooting.

Paul Watson scored in double-figures nine times last season which just one 20-point performance. Watson scored a season-high 22 points against Fort Wayne (12/26/17) on 72.7-percent shooting where he also drained four triples on 80-perecnt shooting.

USA ZIMMY BUCKETZ

Stephen Zimmerman helped the USA Men's World Cup Qualifying February Team to a pair of wins in the second-round games.

With the USA's record-setting 111-80 win over Panama on Friday night, USA qualified for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. A thrilling 84-83 victory over Argentina last night granted USA first place honors in Group E. USA's record now stands at 10-2.

Zimmerman averaged 6.0 points on 83.3-percent shooting while collecting six boards and one assist in the two wins.

New York Knick and Westchester Knicks' alum, John Jenkins, helped lead the 2018 USA World Cup Qualifying Team to a 1-1 record during the 2018 November/December second-round games. He played and started in the USA's two games, averaging 23.5 minutes, 7.5 points and 2.5 rebounds a game.

Zimmerman was also a member of the gold medalist 2014 USA U18 National Team and the 2015 USA Nike Hoop Summit team.

ZIMM ON THE BOARDS

During his 2016-17 campaign with Erie, Stephen Zimmerman collected 10-plus boards seven times. The 24 rebounds against Long Island (12/7/16) still stands as his career-high. In 2017-18 with South Bay, Zimmerman's season-high was 11 rebounds which was tabbed against Rio Grande Valley (1/19/18) which marked the only time Zimmerman was able to secure 10 or more rebounds that season. With Westchester, he has collected 10 or more rebounds five times and the 12 he hauled most recently against Greensboro (2/28) was matched three other times this season.

WARNEY TIME

Jameel Warney is averaging 24.0 points per game in his last three games. He is also averaging 8.3 rebounds per game in the span. He has scored 20-plus points four consecutive times one time this season as a Westchester Knick.

Kadeem Allen's 227 assists this season (35/43 games played) accounts for 22.5-percent of the team's total helpers. Billy Garrett accounts for 15.1-percent of the team's assists numbers.

LIVING OFF THE LIVE TWO BALL

Zak Irvin has only made 25 free-throws this season which is the second-fewest by a Knick, who is currently with the team and has made at least one free-throw, this season. Devon Baulkman has hit 20 this season. Irvin has gotten to the line 42 times and is shooting just 64.3-percent from the stripe. Irvin has only hit one three-pointer this season. Stephen Zimmerman and Buay Tuach are the only other two Knicks, who are currently with the team, to hit just as many. This in turn means that of Irvin's 308 points this season, 278 of them have come off the live two-ball (90.3-percent).

HICKS FOR THREE

Isaiah Hicks drained three three-pointers against Grand Rapids (2/22) which marked the most triples since he drilled a career-high four against Delaware (1/19).

DO IT BIG

When the margin of outcome is 19 points or greater, the Knicks are 4-2.

NO OFFENSE BUT

Before Lakeland (2/24), the Knicks' low for offensive rebounds stood at five matched four times (Lakeland-11/10, Canton-11/14, Raptors-1/28 and Grand Rapids-2/1). SUCCESS STORY

On February 21, 2019, the New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed John Jenkins of the Westchester Knicks (23-17). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jenkins, 6-4, 215, originally signed a 10-day contract with New York on February 11 and has appeared in two games, averaging 10.5 points on 50-percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 17.5 minutes. In the team's win at Atlanta on February 14, Jenkins recorded 14 points, five rebounds and two assists over 26 minutes. Jenkins is the seventh Westchester Knicks player to earn a call-up and sign with New York.

With Westchester this season, Jenkins started each of the 19 games he appeared in averaging a team-high 24.8 points per game on 47-percent shooting. The guard also drained 62 triples this season on 42.5-percent and was a 92.8-percent free-throw shooter. His line also included averages of 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals and a pair of 40-point performances.
