Stockton Kings Defeat South Bay Lakers for Fifth Straight Win

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Kings (26-15), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings defeated the South Bay Lakers (15-25), the NBA G League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers, 122-115. Tonight's win marks the fifth straight for Stockton as the team has not lost since returning from All Star break.

In the first quarter, Two-Way forward Troy Williams scored 12 of his 24 points off the bench for Stockton, to help give the Kings a 10-point lead. Stockton's lead doubled in the second quarter, ending the half with a 64-47 advantage. Guard Reggie Hearn scored nine of his 15 points in the second quarter in his first game back after returning from playing with Team USA.

Stockton held a 93-74 lead heading into the fourth quarter. South Bay guard Scott Machado scored 12 points to help the Lakers outscore the Kings by 10 points in the final quarter. South Bay cut the lead down to seven points with .51 seconds remaining in regulation but was not able to complete the comeback.

Stockton saw six players in double figures tonight. Guard Cody Demps contributed 22 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Two-way forward Wenyen Gabriel and Hearn added 15 points a piece. Sacramento Kings assignee Caleb Swanigan grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, added six points and three assists.

Justin Harper and Machado scored 23 points for South Bay. Jeff Carroll came off the bench to score 19 points and grab four rebounds.

Stockton will finish their seven-game home stretch on Sunday, March 3 when they play the Memphis Hustle at 1 p.m. Stockton will celebrate mascot, Dunkson's birthday with mascots from around the area. All children 12 and under get in free. This game can be viewed via Facebook Live.
