March 1, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (21-19) gain ground in the playoff race, taking down the Texas Legends (14-28), 125-117, on Thursday night for their fourth straight victory.
The Clippers were in control throughout the night, leading by as much as 21 points in the fourth quarter. Angel Delgado led the Clippers with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Jerome Robinson added a double-double of his own, recording 23 points and 10 rebounds to go along with seven assists.
Texas made things interesting down the stretch, cutting the Clippers lead down to seven in the final minutes, but were unable to complete the comeback.
Quincy Acy led the Legends with a game-high 29 points to go along with 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Undefeated since the All-Star break, the Clippers find themselves within one game of the sixth and final playoff spot. Their next two matchups, against the Salt Lake City Stars, who are tied with the Clippers for seventh in the West, and the Memphis Hustle, who hold the six seed, will be crucial to their playoff hopes.
The Clippers will try to sweep the back-to-back and extend their winning streak to five on Friday night as they visit the Salt Lake City Stars. Winners of the prior two meetings between the two teams, Agua Caliente will go for the regular season series sweep. The game tips off at 6 p.m. PDT inside the Lifetime Activities Center-Bruin Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
