
Westchester Knicks' Drought at Home against Raptors 905 Extinct with 110-107 Win

WHITE PLAINS, NY - Westchester Knicks (27-14), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, was winless at home all time against the Raptors 905 (24-16) until today, as the home team came away with a 110-107 win.
Knicks affiliate Nigel Hayes led all scorers in the game with 27 points, setting a new team-high season record with seven three-point field goals to go with eight rebounds. Xavier Rathan-Mayes nabbed his fourteenth double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds. Billy Garrett chipped in 21 points with two steals, while Devon Baulkman supplied 16 points with five steals from the pine. Knicks Two-Way player Luke Kornet finished with 19 points and five rebounds.
Davion Berry scored a team-high 25 points for the Raptors, also supplying four assists. Alfonzo McKinnie provided 18 points with eight rebounds while Malcolm Miller contributed 13 points with six rebounds. Kennedy Meeks and Shevon Thompson each chipped in 16 points, Meeks with seven rebounds and Thompson with eight.
The teams traded threes to start the game when the Raptors 905 took off on a 13-2 run, widening the gap to 11. The Knicks rallied back though, tying it up with just over 3:00 left in the first and taking over the lead off a Devon Baulkman three. Battling back, the Raptors retaliated to end the first quarter with a four-point lead. The second, however, belonged to Westchester. The home team outscored its opponent 34-20 in the quarter while sprinkling in a few crowd-pleasing, rally-cry dunks. With a 13-point quarter from Westchester's Kornet, the Knicks walked into the locker room with a 57-47 lead.
Westchester extended its lead to as many as 16 points in the third, but the Raptors 905 avoided a total runaway by shooting 69 percent from the field and keeping pace with the Knicks. Still, Westchester managed two more points overall in the quarter to hold a 12-point lead heading into the fourth. The 905 would not go down without a fight, the teams continuing a history of exciting finishes. With 2:37 on the clock, Westchester's Garrett knocked down a three to put his team up by 13. But the Raptors then went on an 8-0 run to come within two with 36.5 seconds to go. Though the 905's Berry hit a three-point jumper with 0.5 seconds on the clock, it was too late as the Knicks held on to win it.
The Westchester Knicks play next on Sunday, March 4, visiting the Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic's affiliate, at 3:00 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Networks and streamed live via Facebook Live .
The Raptors 905 return home tomorrow, Feb. 25 to host the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks' affiliate, at 5:00 p.m. ET. That game will be will be streamed live on Twitch
