POWER REPLAY: West Virginia dropped a 3-1 decision at Charleston on Saturday evening. The Power took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the RiverDogs plated a run in the third, sixth, and eighth innings to secure the win. Brooks Pounders took the loss after allowing the sixth inning run. Colton Cain pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out two.

FEW SCORE AGAINST FUESSER: Zac Fuesser pitched a season-high seven innings on Monday night, allowing one run and striking out seven in a no-decision. The southpaw has a 2.31 ERA, which would be the lowest in the league if he had enough innings to qualify. As a starting pitcher this season, Fuesser is 0-2 with a 2.84 earned run average, and is 2-1 with one save as a reliever with a 1.75 ERA. He is slated to be added back onto the Power roster today in time to start this afternoon.

NO FREE PASSES: West Virginia's pitching staff continues to lead all of baseball with the fewest number of batters walked this year. Power pitchers have combined to walk 213 batters through 97 games. The next closest team is Wilmington in the Carolina League with 236. The lowest Major League club tally is 255 by Philadelphia.

SOUTHERN SWING: West Virginia continues its final trip to Charleston, South Carolina with game two of a four game series this afternoon. The Power split on their last trip to Joseph P. Riley Park, winning on May 9 and 10, but falling in the next two games. These clubs met last weekend at Appalachian Power Park with the Power taking two of three including a walk-off win the past Monday night on a Drew Maggi single. West Virginia is 16-11 all-time against the RiverDogs, including an 8-9 mark on the road in the set. The Power and RiverDogs only played four times during the entire 2010 season, but will meet 15 times over the course of the 2011 season.

WALK-OFF WOES: Thursday's loss was the seventh this season in walk-off fashion for the Power. West Virginia is 3-7 during games decided in the last at bat, including their most recent walk-off win on Monday night against the RiverDogs and last night's two out, bottom-of-the-ninth defeat.

BONUS BASEBALL: The Power are now 5-5 when playing extra innings this season after Wednesday's 12 inning win at Savannah. The club did not go to extra frames until May 23 against Lakewood, the 43rd game of the season, but has since done it nine other times over the last 54 games.

VERGE OF HISTORY: Rogelio Noris has 24 career home runs for West Virginia over a season and a half in a Power jersey. Noris has matched Stephen Chapman for the most home runs in any player's Power career. Chapman hit a single-season record 24 home runs in a Power uniform in 2007.

TRIPLE THREAT: Andy Vasquez now has 10 triples this season, most in the SAL by four three-base hits. Vasquez has matched Quincy Latimore single season club record of 10. Latimore finished in a tie for second in triples during the 2009 season, the team's first year as an affiliate of the Pirates.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia is the only club in the SAL that has not hit a grand slam this season...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh fell 9-1 to St. Louis at PNC Park... Indianapolis lost 12-5 to Rochester... Altoona beat New Britain 7-2... Bradenton lost 6-5 against Tampa... State College was doubled up 8-4 by Brooklyn.

Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
