Savannah starter Michael Hebert shut out Lexington on two hits over the first six innings, and the Sand Gnats went on to a 4-2 win over the Legends Sunday afternoon in Savannah.

Hebert, who struck out nine batters and didn't walk anyone, allowed only two singles by Legends' catcher Roberto Pena, one in the third inning and one in the sixth.

Savannah took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a ground rule double by Darrell Ceciliani and two ground outs.

The Sand Gnats added two more runs in the third. Alonzo Harris led off with a single, extending his hitting streak to nine games. Harris stole second, went to third on a bunt single by Ceciliani, and scored when Wilfredo Tovar grounded out to second. Rafael Fernandez' single scored Ceciliani from second to give Savannah a 3-0 lead.

Savannah scored its final run in the bottom of the fourth on a leadoff single by Aderlin Rodriguez and a two-out triple by Harris.

Lexington broke through in the seventh inning against reliever Guillaume Leduc. Mike Kvasnicka led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kvasnicka moved to third after Telvin Nash lined out to center field, and scored on Tyler Burnett's ground out to first.

The Legends added another run in the eighth. Bryce Lane reached second on an error by Rodriguez, the third baseman. Lane went to third when Pena grounded out to shortstop, and then scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-2, but the Legends could get no closer.

Hebert (1-0), making his first start for Savannah after a lengthy stay on the disabled list due to shoulder problems, got the win. Legends' starter Alex Sogard (1-4) took the loss. The Sand Gnats have won the first two games of the four-game series, which continues Monday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
