POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Charleston 13-6 on Saturday evening. The Power used a six run seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie and secure the victory, their second straight. Nine of the ten players used in the game had at least one hit, and six different players scored two runs apiece. Victor Black was the benefactor of the late offense and earned his second win of the season. West Virginia knocked 14 hits in the game, with five players collecting two hits each.

SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL: West Virginia's 13-run attack last night was their second highest offensive output this season, and the first time in over a month that the club reached double digits in run scored. The Power scored 14 against Hagerstown in late April for the highest run output this season, and last hit double digits on June 12 at Greensboro.

ABLE CAIN: Colton Cain was activated from the Power disabled list earlier today and will start this afternoon for West Virginia. The southpaw was place on the disabled list last weekend after his start in Hagerstown, but will not miss a turn in the rotation due to a league-wide off day. In his team-high 17 starts, Cain has pitched six innings seven times, and each of those was a quality start.

STOPPED AT SEVEN: West Virginia snapped its season-high seven game losing streak with Friday night's win. During this stretch, the team was outscored 50-18 and lost by at least two runs in each game.

VERGE OF HISTORY: Rogelio Noris has 24 career home runs for West Virginia over a season and a half in a Power jersey. Noris has now matched Stephen Chapman for the most home runs in any player's Power career. Chapman hit a single-season record 24 home runs in a Power uniform in 2007.

TRIPLE THREAT: Andy Vasquez's triple Friday gives him nine for the season, tops in the SAL so far. Vasquez's total has surpassed Alcides Escobar, Hernan Iribarren, and Lee Haydel for the second-most three base hits in a season in Power history. Quincy Latimore holds the single season record with 10 during the 2009 campaign.

CHARLIE SOUTH TO CHARLIE WEST: West Virginia continues this three game series against the Charleston RiverDogs this afternoon. The clubs meet 15 times this season after only playing a total of four times in 2010. West Virginia leads the all-time set 15-9, and the Power have a 7-2 lead since 2005 at Appalachian Power Park. The RiverDogs have not played in West Virginia since the 2009 season.

LOPEZ TO DL: The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Porfirio Lopez on the Power disabled list, retroactive to July 13, and added Rinku Singh from the State College roster. Lopez is 1-3 with a 4.18 ERA for the Power this season, and went 1-1 with a 5.49 earned run average for Bradenton. Singh was signed by Pittsburgh in 2008 after winning the Indian reality show "The Million Dollar Arm." This season, the southpaw was 0-2 with a 2.16 ERA with the Spikes.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia is the only club in the SAL who has not hit a grand slam this season... Rinku Singh has now pitched at four levels in the Pirates organization this season...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 6-4 at Houston... Indianapolis lost at Columbus 7-5... Altoona rallied to beat Erie 11-8. The Curve scored five in the top of the ninth to steal the win... Bradenton lost at Dunedin 3-2... State College was blanked 7-0 by Williamsport.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
