Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

KANNAPOLIS, NC - The Lakewood BlueClaws took game 2 of their 3 game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators 4-3 on Sunday night. The BlueClaws took the 4-3 lead in the 5th inning, and never looked back. Domingo Santana paced Lakewood offensively as he was 2-3 with 2 doubles and the game tying and game winning RBI's.

On the mound, starting pitcher Lisalberto Bonilla gave Lakewood another good outing. Bonilla allowed 3 hits and 3 runs over 5 innings to collect his 2nd consecutive win and 2nd win overall as a BlueClaw. 4 relievers combined to pitch the final 4 innings of scoreless baseball for Lakewood. RHP Ryan Duke pitched a perfect 9th inning to collect his 2nd save for Lakewood. The BlueClaws scored all 4 of their runs off Kannwpolis starter Matt Heidenreich. Kannapolis' defense did Heidenreich no favors however as they committed a season high 5 errors before there was an out recorded in the 3rd inning.

To go along with Domingo Santana's great night at the plate, Lakewood had 6 others chip in with a base hit. Carlos Perdomo and Edgar Duran each had an RBI for the BlueClaws. Santana drove in Travis Mattair and Jim Murphy with a 2-out double to LF in the 5th inning, and that ended up being the game winning hit.

Monday will be the rubber game of the 3 game series for Lakewood and Kannapolis with a pretty good pitching matchup in store. LHP Ervis Manzanillo (7-4, 4.57 ERA) will start for Lakewood and LHP Spencer Arroyo (6-5, 3.52 ERA) will start for Kannapolis. First Pitch is scheduled for 11:05 am on Monday morning.
