Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 17, 2011) -- The Lakewood BlueClaws capitalized on early Intimidators errors, beating Kannapolis 4-3 at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Sunday evening in front of 3,117 in attendance.

Marcus Semien committed a fielding error while throwing errors from Juan Silverio and Kevin Dubler opened the door for a pair of Lakewood runs in the second inning. Kannapolis matched a season-high with five errors, all within the first three frames.

The Intimidators responded in the fourth inning with three runs to claim the lead. Silverio drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Intimidators on the board. Kevin Dubler singled to tie the game, and Rafael Vera walked to give the Intimidators a 3-2 lead.

Lakewood leapfrogged back in front, 4-3, on Domingo Santana's two-run double in the fifth inning, putting starter Lisalberto Bonilla in line for a win. Bonilla (2-2) worked five innings, allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Matt Heidenreich (7-6) pitched at least six innings in his sixth straight outing, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts in a losing effort.

Four BlueClaws relievers combined for four scoreless innings to back up Bonilla's effort as Ryan Duke pitched a perfect ninth for the save (2).

The Intimidators wrap up the three-game series against the BlueClaws on Monday at 11:05 a.m. at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. For ticket information, call the box office at (704) 932-3267 or visit www.IntimidatorsBaseball.com .
