WENATCHEE, Wash. - An unforgettable week for Wenatchee Wild forward Conor Geekie has pushed him into the team's scoring lead and onto Wenatchee's Western Hockey League weekly award list. Geekie was named the WHL's Tempo Player of the Week on Monday, behind a 13-point week that included three four-point performances and a new team record on Saturday night.

The Strathclair, Manitoba native had just one assist in a 5-4 overtime loss at the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday, but that was hardly a sign of things to come the rest of the week. He racked up a goal and three assists Friday in an 8-3 Wenatchee victory over the Portland Winterhawks, with his top outburst of the week coming on Saturday - with the Wild down 5-1 at Portland going into the third period and still down by three goals with seven minutes remaining, Geekie propelled Wenatchee to a 6-5 overtime victory with a natural four-goal hat trick. He posted another goal and three assists Sunday in a 7-4 win over the Tri-City Americans.

Geekie's natural hat trick on Saturday was the team's second of the season, after Matthew Savoie's three-goal barrage at the Spokane Chiefs on November 18 - however, he became the first player in the team's 28-year history to score four consecutive goals in the same game, and posted the team's first four-goal game in any fashion since 2014. Saturday's four-goal comeback victory was only the fourth in the organization's history, and the first since 2019.

Riding an eight-game point streak, Geekie has raced into the team scoring lead, with 20 goals and 29 assists coming out of the opening weekend of December. He enters the new week with 88 goals and 131 assists in his WHL career, including nine goals and 13 assists over that eight-game string, tied for the team's longest active point streak. His 49 points this season ranks in a tie for third in the WHL coming out of the weekend, and his 29 points is tied for fourth. Eight of his 20 goals this season have come on the power play, tied for a top-five spot in the league, and his +22 plus/minus rating also ranks fifth on the circuit.

He is the fourth player on the Wild roster this season to pick up a weekly award from the WHL, following Oscar Lovsin's Rookie of the Week award from the opening weekend of the season, a Player of the Week honor for former Wenatchee forward Easton Armstrong in early October, and Daniel Hauser's Goaltender of the Week honor for the week of October 16 to 22.

After a three-game U.S. Division road swing starting Saturday, Wenatchee returns to the Town Toyota Center ice on Friday, December 15 for their Ugly Sweater Night against the Prince George Cougars, presented by Dick's Heating and Air Conditioning. Tickets for that game and all home regular-season contests are on sale now at 509-888-7825, or by visiting the team office at Town Toyota Center. Updated news and information on Wild hockey are always available through the team's website and on the team's social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
