Welch Recalled by Monarchs

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that right wing Dan Welch has been recalled by the Manchester Monarchs.

The Hastings, Minnesota was an offensive spark plug for Reading in his brief visit. He appeared in seven games during his second assignment to Reading this season and tallied five goals and nine points with four penalty minutes. Welch has appeared in a total of 11 games with Reading and scored eight goals and 15 points with eight minutes in penalties. He has registered five multiple-point games, two shorthanded goals and three game-winning goals during his ECHL stint. Welch was assigned to Reading on February 24 . He has appeared in 41 games with the Royals primary AHL affiliate and scored three goals and eight points with 30 penalty minutes.

The Reading Royals play two games both in the Sovereign Center this weekend. Dayton returns to Reading on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 adults, 21-and-over, receive a Coors Light battle cap opener, plus fans are encouraged to bring a canned food item to the game to benefit the Greater Berks Food Bank. Saturday, the Royals host Atlantic City at 7:05 p.m. and the first 2,500 fans receive the third edition of Royals trading cards presented by Rieck's Printing.
