PENSACOLA, FLA- The Pensacola Ice Flyers play the Knoxville Ice Bears in back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday to close out the regular season.
Pensacola Ice Flyers Record: 32-16-6 (70 points)
Leading Scorer: Garrett Milan (63 points)
Leading Goaltender: Brian Billett (9-7-2, 2.67 GAA, .899 SV%)
The Ice Flyers fell to the Macon Mayhem 4-2 yesterday. Charlie Adams scored first for the Ice Flyers on the power play with assists coming from Garrett Milan and Troy Vance. Garrett Milan scored late in the third, assisted by Liam Kerins and Charlie Adams.
Knoxville Ice Bears Record: 29-19-6 (64 points)
Leading Scorer: Berkley Scott (68 points)
Leading Goaltender: Zoltan Hetenyi (15-16-2, 3.26 GAA, .905 SV%)
This past weekend, the Ice Bears played against the Evansville Thunderbolts in back-to-back games. On Friday, they lost 4-3 in Evansville. Their goals were scored by Gehrett Sargis, Tyler Minx and Stefan Brucato. They were assisted by Danny Cesarz, Charlie Granath, Stefan Brucato, Eliot Grauer and Berkley Scott. On Saturday, however, the Ice Bears shutout the Thunderbolts at home 5-0. Evan Neugold scored two of the five goals, with Eliot Grauer, Kevin Swider and Alex Adams scoring the other three. Kevin Swider, Evan Neugold (2), Lawrence Cornellier (2), David Brancik, Berkley Scott, Michael Chen, Tyler Minx and Marcus Ortiz all tallied assits.
LOOKING FORWARD: The SPHL Challenge Round Show will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 at Buffalo Wild Wings. During this show, the top four teams in the league will select who they want to face off against in the first round of the 2018 SPHL Playoffs. The full team will be in attendance and the show will be broadcast on Facebook Live. There will be multiple raffles and fun games going on during the show for the fans in attendance.
