Macon Mayhem News Release

PELHAM, AL- Macon Mayhem goaltender Peter Di Salvo recorded a 35-save shutout on Friday night, as the Mayhem defeated the Birmingham Bulls 7-0 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Mayhem opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the opening period. Five minutes into the game, Caleb Cameron tallied his 20th goal of the season to take the early lead. Just over halfway through the first, Dakota Klecha was set up for a short-handed goal by John Siemer to take a 2-0 lead.

Macon posted a four-spot in the second period to stretch their lead to 6-0. On a chaotic play in front of the net, captain Daniel Gentlzer corralled the rebound and put it home on the power play. On the next man-advantage opportunity, Dylan Vander Esch slammed home a rebound to give the Mayhem a four-goal advantage. Gentzler then scored his second of the game, as he buried a Jake Trask pass for another short-handed goal. With 1:03 left in the middle period, Trask scored a goal of his own to stretch the lead to six. The Mayhem added one more in the third period, as John Siemer scored with just over six minutes remaining to tack on the seventh Mayhem goal.
