DAYTON, OH - Thad Weber earned his first professional victory and Scott Green retired all four batters he faced to complete a Whitecaps shutout of Dayton, 5-0. Weber scattered four hits over 7.2 innings. He allowed one hit through the first five frames then gave up singles in each the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Weber finished with six strikeouts.
Three straight hits to start the top of the third, including a two-run single by Joe Tucker put the Whitecaps on the board, 2-0. Tucker became the seventh Whitecap this season with 40 RBI.
In the sixth inning Audy Ciriaco and Kody Kaiser became the first two Whitecaps with 50 RBI and it happened on consecutive pitches.
