Beltre Shuts Down Lugnuts

South Bend Silver Hawks News Release

South Bend, IN - The South Bend Silver Hawks defeated the Lansing Lugnuts tonight by the score of 5-2.

South Bend put the game out of reach early by taking a 5-0 lead after 4 innings. Lansing managed to score 2 runs, but that was all they could get tonight.

Ollie Linton led the hitting tonight for the Hawks. Linton went 2 for 3 with a RBI and run scored. Sean Coughlin helped the cause with 2 hits as well.

Cristian Belte (13-8) turned in another solid performance tonight. Beltre gave up 1 run and 3 hits in 5 innings of work.

The Silver Hawks and Lugnuts will play game 2 of their series on Saturday. Game time is slated for 6:30 PM. Saturday is Fleece Blanket Giveaway sponsored by Bud Light and 103.9 The Bear. (First 1,000 adults 21 and older)
