Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, in conjunction with the United Hockey League, announced today that right wing Kevin Watters has been named as the UHL's Sherwood Hockey Player of the Week.

Watters scored his first professional point on Friday in Richmond, earning an assist on a Blake Stewart power-play goal. Midway through the second period, Watters notched his first professional goal to give the Frostbite a 4-0 lead. That goal was the game-winner in Adirondack's 5-3 season-opening win over the RiverDogs.

Saturday night, Watters had a huge hand in the Frostbite's 8-3 home-opening win over Richmond. He scored the first goal of the game just 27 seconds into the first period, and went on to have a four-point night, notching the first hat trick of his career as well as adding an assist.

Sunday afternoon, Watters scored a shorthanded goal midway through the second period to give the Frostbite a 4-1 lead over Richmond. Adirondack went on to win the game 5-2.

Watters is tied with teammate Blake Stewart for the UHL lead in goals with five, and he and Stewart are tied for second in the league in points with seven, just one behind another Frostbite player, Hugo Belanger.

Adirondack heads on the road this weekend for a pair of games. Friday, the Frostbite are in Port Huron for a 7:30 face-off against the Flags, and on Saturday, they take on the Flint Generals at 7:35 p.m. Both games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show 20 minutes prior to game time.

The Frostbite return to the Glens Falls Civic Center on Wednesday, November 2, to take on the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all remaining Frostbite home games are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center, or through TicketMaster, by calling (518) 476-1000, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
