Omaha Lancers News Release
Waterloo, IA - The Omaha Lancers continued on their three-game weekend with a trip to Waterloo to face the Black Hawks. The Lancers and Black Hawks have faced off two times this season before Sunday afternoons matchup. Omaha and Waterloo have both won a game each in the series. The Lancers called on goaltender Zach Driscoll to play between the pipes.
In the first period, Noah Cates (7) got the Lancers on the board with 12:13 left to play. The Black Hawks got on the board with a shot from Garrett Wait to tie the game 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
It was all Waterloo in the second period. Less than a minute into the period, Bobby Trivigno snapped the puck past Zach Driscoll. Then with 15:08 left, Evan Dougherty scored off of a miscommunication from Omaha to give the Black Hawks the 3-1 lead.
In the third period, there was a glimpse of hope for the Lancers. Nick Perbix scored his first of the year to bring Omaha within one goal. But, Waterloo got on the board again with a goal from Jack Drury. Omaha then pulled Driscoll for the extra man, but Waterloo capitalized and took the win, 5-2.
Zach Driscoll stopped 27 of the 31shots that he faced.
