Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Windsor, ON) - Thanks to overwhelming continued support from the people of Windsor-Essex County, we're proud to announce our #WaterForFlint collection initiative has reached 50,000 bottles as of 1pm today.
"The water has just kept coming," said Spitfires spokesman Nathan Sellon. "We all got here early this morning and we've had a steady stream of cars all day. We can't thank everyone enough - from the local media affiliates that have helped us get the word out, to everyone that has taken the time to make a donation."
Sellon says the team will continue to provide curbside service at the WFCU Centre until 4pm, at which point people can bring their donations to The Crease Apparel Shop, located on the Community Rinks side of the facility.
Curbside collection will start up again Saturday from 9 am to noon.
