Niagara IceDogs News Release

The IceDogs were back on the road Friday night visiting the Hersey Centre to take on their Central Division rivals the Mississauga Steelheads.

The IceDogs came out strong in the first period looking to start their weekend road game with some energy. It was a face paced game, as both team exchanged scoring chances. In the dying minutes of the period the IceDogs fell a goal short, and headed into the second period down by one.

The second period was a gritty one as both teams had their fair share of penalties giving each side power play opportunities. The IceDogs were unable to capitalize on any of their chances, giving the Steelheads the opportunity to increase their lead to 3-0. The IceDogs remain ahead on shots on goal by 22-15 heading into the third.

Tempers flared in the third period as the IceDogs tried to fight their way back into the game, but proved to be unsuccessful ending the game with a 5-0 loss.

The Dogs play in Erie tomorrow night against the Otters, with the hopes to end their weekend off with a win. The IceDogs next home game is Sunday January 31^st, as they are set to play the Hamilton Bulldogs. Tickets can be purchased at all IceDogs ticket locations.
