
Washington Spirit's Chantel Jones and Lori Lindsey Sign with Canberra United

BOYDS, MD. (Sept. 12, 2014) - Washington Spirit announced today that goalkeeper Chantel Jones and midfielder Lori Lindsey have signed with Canberra United of the Australian W-League.
The Spirit is currently in negotiations with several players, including Yael Averbuch, Lisa DeVanna, Jones, Caroline Miller and Tiffany Weimer, for the 2015 NWSL season.
A native of Midlothian, Va., Jones, 26, played in five games for the Spirit this season and primarily took on the role of backup goalkeeper. The University of Virginia alum will be joining Canberra for her second season in Australia after previously playing for Perth Glory in 2013.
Lindsey, 34, announced her retirement from the NWSL near the end of the 2014 season. The Indianapolis, Ind. native appeared in 22 matches for the Spirit in 2014 and tallied one goal and one assist. An alum of the University of Virginia, Lindsey will officially retire from professional soccer after her stint with Canberra.
