HANOVER, MASS. (September 12, 2014) - The Boston Breakers announced today the club has signed Brazilian forward Suzane Pires for the 2015 NWSL season.

In 2014, Pires played with the Boston Breakers reserves in the WPSL, earning 11 starts with six goals and five assists.

"Suzane was discovered by the coaching staff at our open tryouts early this year and immediately stood out as a very technical player with flair and a smart soccer brain," Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said. "Keeping her in our reserve program and training under our philosophy has made her an even better player."

Pires spent 2010-2013 playing at Southern Connecticut State University receiving All-New England, All-Region and All-Northeast-10 Conference selection honors as well being named an All-American.

"I am excited for our fans to see Suzane and it's another big testament to our reserve program's identification and development philosophy," Billiard added. "Both head coach Tom Durkin and I are big admirers and Tom will certainly bring the best of her attributes to the NWSL stage."

Before college the Sao Paulo, Brazil native played in Brazil and Germany. She was a member of several championship squads, including a JEBS Championship in 2006 and a Sao Paulo Futsal Championship in 2005.
