Boston Breakers News Release

The Boston Breakers announced today that they have signed defender Amanda Frisbie as a discovery player. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Frisbie made three appearances for FC Kansas City in 2016. The Blues acquired her from the Western New York Flash following the 2015 season. She started two of the four games she appeared in for the Flash in 2015.

"I'm delighted that we have managed to bring Amanda to Boston," Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. "She's done very well in Iceland, playing as a center back. We monitored her progress overseas, and she will be another good addition to the roster."

A native of Keller, Texas, Frisbie, 24, starred at the University of Portland. As a senior at Portland in 2013, Frisbie was a NSCAA First Team All-American (Portland's first first-team All-American since 2009) and was a MAC-Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. She was selected by Seattle Reign FC, seventh overall, in the 2014 NWSL College Draft. She missed the 2014 season due to injury.

After her time with FC Kansas City, Frisbie headed overseas, landing in Iceland. She joined Stjarnan, where she helped the club win the Úrvalsdeild championship. Frisbie played in nine matches for Stjarnan.

Season tickets for 2017 are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 617-945-1704 or by visiting breakerstickets.com.
