Potomac Nationals News Release

Woodbridge, VA - The Washington Nationals have assigned OF Adam Eaton to the Potomac Nationals for a rehabilitation assignment. Washington's centerfielder will join the P-Nats Tuesday night at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium, as the P-Nats host the Frederick Keys (Baltimore) at 7:05pm. The length of his rehab assignment has not been determined.

The Nationals placed the outfielder on the 10-day DL with a left ankle bone bruise on April 11th, retroactive to April 9th, while he was later placed on the 60-day DL. Eaton began his rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg.

The 29-year-old Eaton joined the Nationals as part of a blockbuster trade in December of 2016. Washington sent RHP Dane Dunning, RHP Lucas Giolito, and RHP Reynaldo Lopez to the Chicago White Sox in the three for one trade. Both Giolito and Lopez have played for Potomac.

Eaton, a 19th round pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, played for two seasons with Arizona, before the Diamondbacks traded him to the White Sox. In three years with Chicago, Eaton hit 29 home runs and drove in 150 runs. The outfielder played just 23 games with the Nationals before he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the 2017 season. In 23 games last year, Eaton hit .297 with 10 extra-base hits and 13 RBIs. In eight games in 2018 before he went on the disabled list, the Ohio native hit .345 with a pair of home runs.

The P-Nats match up with the Keys Tuesday night in the series opener. First pitch is set for 7:05pm and gates open at 6:00pm.
