
Washington Loses Sunday Finale 8-2

Washington, PA-The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial fell by a score of 8-2 to the River City Rascals Sunday at CONSOL Energy Park.
Despite the loss, the Wild Things took two out of three against one of the top teams in the West Division. Washington starter Shawn Blackwell suffered his second loss of the season while River City pitcher Tim Koons earned the win.
The Rascals wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as an early double from River City catcher Saxon Butler put the visitors in front 1-0.River City continued to pour on the offense as they plated seven runs in the top of the second highlighted by a grand slam by first baseman Zach Kometani, 8-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, outfielder Scott Kalamar put the Things' on the board as he blasted a solo home run to trim the visitor's advantage 8-1. Kalamar also drove in the Wild Things final run of the contest as a sacrifice-fly scored Washington catcher Michael Allen, 8-2.
