(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (31-21) moved into sole possession of second place in the Frontier League East Division with a 13-1 rout of the Southern Illinois Miners on Sunday night.

Evansville had 13 runs on 15 hits, both tying season-highs, in the series ending victory.

After the Miners tied the game in the third, the Otters rallied to score the game's final 12 runs for the win.

Even at one, Evansville scored five runs in the third against Southern Illinois starter Tyler Lavigne. Designated hitter Phillip Wilson added a two run double to left field and outfielder Chris Sweeney followed with a two-run home run to left field.

Leading by five, the Otters plated one run in the fourth, two more in the fifth and four added runs in the sixth to extend their lead to 12.

Relievers Anthony Collazo and Brandon Shimo both threw a scoreless inning in relief to complete the Evansville 13-1 victory.

Balog was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two runs batted in on Sunday night. Sweeney ended the night 2-for-4 with three runs scored, a home run and two runs batted in. Infielders Josh Allen and Cory Urquhart each had three hits in the win.
