NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, broke a four-game skid in emphatic style with a 13-6 win over the Frontier Greys on Sunday night at the Corn Crib.

The Greys scored first for the third straight game with second-inning doubles from Greg Bachman and Jon Dziomba. The Belters countered with a run in their second frame when Aaron Dudley led off with a double and scored on a base hit by Ozney Guillen.

The Belters grabbed a 5-1 lead in the third inning with back-to-back home runs, a three-run shot to left by Sam Judah and a solo drive to right by Aaron Dudley. The Greys got one of the runs back in the fourth with a long ball as Bachman hooked a homer just inside the left field foul pole to cut the Normal lead to 5-2, then tallied again in the frame when Ramon Ortega reached with a two-out single and scored on a triple by Cameron Monger to the right field corner to cut the margin to 5-3.

The CornBelters put up another big inning in the fourth as Santiago Chirino reached via single and scored on a Mike Schwartz double to the left center field wall, followed by a sacrifice fly by Dudley to score Schwartz to increase the lead to 7-3.

The Greys again answered in the next inning with a two-out rally by plating two to cut the Belters lead to 7-5 thanks to a single by Frank Florio, a double by Bachman and a two-run base hit by Zach Tanner to end the night for Belters starter Corey MacDonald.

The Belters padded their cushion to four runs for the third time in the seventh inning when Judah and Richard Lucas were walked and scored on a base hit by Guillen for a 9-5 advantage. The inning continued with an RBI single by Dylan Kelly to score Guillen and double up the lead to 10-5. Chirino completed the scoring with a bases-loaded RBI single to put the Belters ahead 11-5 heading to the eighth inning.

The Greys chipped the deficit to 11-6 when Tanner led off the eighth with a single and went to third on a two-base error, then scored on a ground out by Dziomba.

The CornBelters bought some insurance in the eighth when Judah led off by reaching base on a dropped pop-up, then after the bases became loaded after a Dudley single and a walk to Lucas, Guillen's sacrifice fly to center for his fourth RBI of the night plated Judah. Dudley scored on a Dylan Kelly sacrifice fly to left for the final tally.

Jason Postill (4-1) completed the game in relief of MacDonald and earned the win. Greys starter Keith Picht (2-5) took the loss.

The CornBelters are off on Monday before continuing the home stand Tuesday through Saturday beginning with a Tuesday doubleheader against the East Division-leading Washington Wild Things with the first pitch of the first game set for 6 p.m. The Belters host their second coaches show of the season on Monday from 5:30 until 6 p.m. at the Tavern at Parke Regency Hotel at G.E. and Towanda-Barnes Roads in Bloomington.
