
Warriors Sign Center Sy Nutkevitch

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced the team has signed center Sy Nutkevitch to a contract.
Nutkevitch, 26, spent the majority of last season with the Fort Wayne Komets, where he earned 17 points (3g, 14a), eight penalty minutes and a +9 rating in 37 games. He also enjoyed an impressive five-game stint with the SPHL's Bloomington Thunder, producing six points (1g, 5a) over that span.
A native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Nutkevitch began his professional career with the CHL's Texas Brahmas near the end of the 2011-12 campaign. In 68 career CHL games, he notched 51 points (15g, 36a) and 46 penalty minutes, and was named to the league's All-Rookie Team in 2012-13. He was also named co-winner of the CHL Rookie of the Year Award that season.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'0, 172-pound defenseman played four seasons at State University of New York (SUNY) Potsdam. Nutkevitch recorded 103 points (26g, 77a) and 99 penalty minutes in 99 games.
